Topic 16 (web 2.0 part II - Wikis & Podcasts

I can easily say that this topic was interesting but I had a hard time with the wiki. Where we had to get to sign up to do our lesson presentation. I would think it would be a little confusing for the students to use. I know that I was confused with it. I would put my time block down and then it would be gone. I finally waited to everyone was done so I would be able to know when I was going to do my presentation. One of the reasons I think it would be confusing for students is where they would have to wait for the other person to get done and you never really knowing what you are writing is going to really show up in the end. I would think it would be okay if only a couple were working together but having a whole classroom it not a good idea.

  1. It was a little hard at first, but I'm hoping my high school students will be able to figure it out (they are the digital natives, right). :) I was so excited by the wikis and all the applications they can have in English classes. I think you might be right about having the whole class on at the same time. It might be more effective to use it for a few at a time or for a way to make homework more interactive.

  2. I really like the idea about using it for making homework more interactive. That would be a good idea for the students to use if they needed help on any problem. In doing this the teacher can see if there is any one question that students may be having a problem with. Thanks the the idea.
