I would have to say that I really enjoyed the many different ways teachers can do their lesson plans and make it fun at the same time. We need to find ways to keep the students active in class and seeing how others have done this is interesting. Thanks for all of the good ideas.

Topic 9 (Word Processing)
I know about word processing but I will have to say that I have really never thought it could be used the way we did in class. I have never heard of google doc until in this class. I can say that I found it fun to use this and I think it might be fun for the students to learn and have fun on. The students can use it by making up their own little stories by using the wacky tales. All they would have to do is fill in the blanks. I also liked the switch zoo. There were many things on this site that I think the students will enjoy and have fun with. I would like to try some of these sites when I get into a classroom. I would like to find a way to mix it up with math. I enjoyed this site.

Topic 10 (Spreadsheets)
I would have to say that spreadsheets are a good way of trying to keep yourself organized in many ways. There was a place that can be used for everyone but some reason I can not find where I may have written it down. I have also found that it is also helpful in your own house with keeping track of your inventory of what you have in your house. I think it would also be a good idea for a food storage. To keep track of your food this way when you are low on a specific item.

Topic 11 (web site evaluation)
I found this assignment interesting. I did not know athat there was so much information that is on a web site. I also think it is a good idea to check to see if the web site has and when was the last update. I think that is so important when it comes to you looking this up on the web site and wanting to use it in your classroom. I also looked into a school that happened to be out of state to see what they would have on their sites. I thought that the school in Florida, that I used, was a good site for students and for the parents. It is a site that can keep the parents updated with what is going and what activities they maybe having. I think this is a good idea because the students do not always give the notes to their parents. I have had this happen to me plenty of times.

Topic 16 (web 2.0 part II - Wikis & Podcasts
I can easily say that this topic was interesting but I had a hard time with the wiki. Where we had to get to sign up to do our lesson presentation. I would think it would be a little confusing for the students to use. I know that I was confused with it. I would put my time block down and then it would be gone. I finally waited to everyone was done so I would be able to know when I was going to do my presentation. One of the reasons I think it would be confusing for students is where they would have to wait for the other person to get done and you never really knowing what you are writing is going to really show up in the end. I would think it would be okay if only a couple were working together but having a whole classroom it not a good idea.

Topic8 (WebQwest)
When we talked about this subject I was not there. I missed that day. I did look at the websites that were with the assignment and I would have to say that I really enjoyed the ice cream and the greener schools sites. I think these were interesting sites and that they could be used in class easily. I think the students would like to do the ice cream one so that they can see what it takes to make homemade ice cream. I think it would be a fun actively to do in a math class because you can teach the students how to double a recipe or even make it larger if you needed too.

Topic 7 (copyright)
Wow there are some things on that test that I did not even know about. There are a lot more to the copyright laws than I even knew about. There were a couple I knew for sure but some of the answers that I thought were correct turned out to be wrong. That was a surprise to me. I am glad to be taking this class.

Topic 6 (powerpoint)
I can remember the first time I had to use power point for one of my classes. I had no idea what a power point was or even how to make one. I remember talking to my son about power points and he told me that he knows how to use and even make one. That was the day that my teenage son helped me do my homework. It is usually that other way around. I guess I am proof that we can learn from our kids just like they learn from us. Today I learned even more from a power point. I now can say that making a power point in different ways can be fun for adults and for kids. I would not mind using something like this when I start teaching. They say that Digital Immigrants need to learn to teach our students.

Topic 5 (YETC & Other Resources)
I found this web site interesting. I would like to say that I liked the NASA web link. I like the pictures that was on that web page. I would like to have the students look at these picture to show the students that space can be interesting. I just wish that the lesson plans would have had a little bit more to choose from other than that it was fun to look into. When I start to teach I would like to use some of these links to help me with the students.

(power school)
I would have to say that I have really enjoyed having this down here in Juab. I can say that this is how I can keep an eye on how my kids are doing in school. I like it also because I can see what assignments my kids have not handed to their teacher and to check their grades. I really like the idea of having this so that the parents can keep track of their students with out having to take some time off from work to go and see the teachers to see how your child is doing in school. One of the good things I also like about this feature is that you can have your childrens grades and if your children are in school or late for a class. I have my child's sent to me by email everyday of the school week.

Topic 4 Lesson plan1
I had a little bit of hard time making a lesson plan. I get alittle confused trying to figure out how to make one. This is what I did my lesson plan. It is as follows: I would like to teach the students about factors, so my lesson plan is going to be on this to the sixth graders.
I went and used the web page of UEN. I then picked the sixth grade lesson plans. In doing this I was looking for math lesson plans for the sixth grade. I clicked on the prime factorization web link. After that I went and clicked on the prime factorization-from fingerprints to factor prints link. I then went to the website factor tree and came up with a factor game. I also looked at the purple math – factoring numbers web site. I found both of lots of these web sites useful in teaching students about factoring.
I hope this gets easier.

topic 3 (web 2.0 part 1)
I have found that lots of the websites we are learning about in class are going to be helpful. One of the things that I found to be interesting was when we were talking about the smart board. I have a little bit about these but I have really never seen one. The Juab Schools do not have too many of these but I was talking to a teacher and she was telling me that they are working on getting more for the teachers. I have been in a couple of classrooms but not seen anyone use them. I have heard some things about them from my son who is in High School and he was telling me that he thinks the school needs to get more so that all of the teachers have them. He was telling me that he has really enjoyed learning from the teachers using them and this is why he thinks that all teachers should have one and learn how to use them. I would have to say that having them in the classrooms the teacher need to learn how to use them so that it would not be a waste of money. In watching about it in class I would have to say that when a teacher learns how to use it, it is going to be very helpful and can be used in many different ways. I am thinking that in the long run it is going to be worth while to have in the classrooms.

topic 2 (UEN)
I would have to say that looking up the UEN web page was helpful in helping me looking up some lesson plans. I would have to say that having a web site where you can go to get some ideas to help you with making your own lessons is going to be helpful. I have heard that coming up with lesson plans your first year teacher can take a while to make. I am going to find it helpful in making my lessons when I can use or even look at others. This site is going to be useful.

topic one (todays students)
I enjoyed watching the video. There are a few things I really thought to be interesting. One of them being that 1/2 of the students will not graduate from high school. I was thinking that was a high number of students not getting an education and graduating from high school. I would have thought it would have been lower than that. I also thought where they talked about by the year 2016 the largest country speaking English is going to be China. In watching this video I did not really think that technology was going to be used so much in the schools. I am looking forward to learning more about this.
